Philip Lageder will race in Tomaszów Mazowiecki under the Swiss flag

We learned the name of another participant of the European Individual Ice Speedway Championship. The competition will take place on December 13, 2020 at Arena Lodowa in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. Philip Lageder will participate in this event as a representative for Switzerland.

This nearly 33-year-old has Austrian citizenship. He was born in this country and lives every day. However, this season Lageder will be competing with a Swiss license. Hence his application to the Tomaszów competition by the Federation Motocycliste Suisse, which was entitled to one place on the start list.

– My adventure with ice speedway started relatively recently. However, I have participated in at the German Championship in Berlin, the Roelof Thijs Cup in the Netherlands or at home on the track in Weissenbach. Earlier this year, I tried my hand at the individual world championship. But I dropped out of the qualifying round in Ornskoldsvik, said Lageder.

For this competitor, ice speedway competitions are a dream come true and a passion.

– I work professionally on a daily basis, only later do I have time for training and work with equipment. I have always dreamed of competing in this sport discipline. My passion for motorcycles was instilled in me by my father, who competed in sidecars. I did a bit of motocross riding. Anyway, I am happy to do it to this day. I did not deal with other varieties of speedway – admitted Lageder, who will start in Poland for the first time. – I am very excited about the performance of the individual European Championship in an event. I hope that I will show my best side and I will have nice memories of the ride in the Ice Arena in Tomaszów Mazowiecki – concluded the Swiss representative.
