There is a new date for the European Individual Ice Speedway Championship. Originally scheduled for March 13, 2021, the competition was postponed to December 4 this year. Place without changes – Arena Lodowa in Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
The beginning of the competition is 6:45 pm.
– It’s the only sensible decision at the moment. Its main reasons are the continuing pandemic situation and the consequent lack of the direct participation of fans in the event – explains Marcin Skabowski, president of the Żuraw Gdańsk Association, which organizes the competition under the Speedwayevents.pl brand.
There are also restrictions related to the state of the pandemic as regards the possibility of freely crossing borders. It could not be without impact on the cast of the competition.
– Last year, with great effort, we managed to organize this event, which was an organizational and sports success. However, now the pandemic has changed somewhat. Hence the change in the calendar. We hope that everything will normalize in December and we will see a high-level competition at the Ice Arena again – said Piotr Szymański, chairman of the FIM Europe Track Racing Committee.
