The Texom European Individual Ice Speedway Championship in Sanok is fast approaching, and that means federations have started sending in their nominations. The first to do so was the Dutch Motorcycle Federation (KNMV), which has set its sights on Sebastian Reitsma and Jasper Iwema. The competition for the title of the best rider in Europe is already on February 24 and 25. The start of the competition, on both days, at 2 pm.
The names of Sebastian Reitsma and Jasper Iwema are well known to Polish fans for two reasons. First, both athletes have already competed in Poland. Second, they are connected by their Polish roots – the mothers of these athletes come from our country.
Sebastian Reitsma, whose father also raced on the ice, placed 9th overall in the European Individual Championships last year in Sanok. It is worth mentioning that the Dutch rider is only 17 years old. In Sanok we will see him with number 11 on his plastron.
The second of the appointed Dutchmen is nearly 35-year-old Jasper Iwema. He last appeared in front of the Sanok crowd in 2022, taking a high 6th place then (however, he was eighth in the overall standings – previously he was ranked 9th and 7th). Jasper, in addition to fighting for titles in Europe, has to his credit appearances in the cycle of the Individual Ice Speedway World Championships.
The Dutchman has a very rich experience in motorsports. He competed in the 125cc, Moto 2 and Moto 3 motorcycle championship series, as well as MotoE. He recently put his career on hold, taking part in a Dutch TV Show for an extended period of time. He returned this season and has already made starts in the Swedish league. In Sanok he will ride with the number 10 on his plastron.

Ticket sales for the event in Sanok are already underway. Ticket packages have been prepared for two days of ice speedway on the “Blonie” track, and you can also purchase tickets separately for each day. Prices are the same as last year. Sales are conducted online – at bilety.speedwayevents.pl and at ebilet.pl.

Tickets for people with disabilities: The organizers have prepared a pool of free tickets for fans with disabilities. Eager persons are asked to apply – by February 15 – at the following email address: events@speedwayevents.pl, writing “Ice Speedway ticket” in the subject line of the message. The condition for receiving a free ticket will be to send a copy of a document proving a severe disability. Free admission is due to both the person with a disability and his/her guardian. The number of seats is limited!
