For the fourth time in a row, Sanok will become the capital of European ice speedway. On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the competition for Texom European Individual Ice Speedway Championship medals will take place. The first race starts at 4 p.m. FIM Europe, the Polish Motor Association and Speedwayevents.pl invite you to the competition.
Ice Speedway returned to Sanok in 2022 after an eight-year break. Then, the first of the two final tournaments of the Individual European Championships took place on the “Błonie” track, and the Mayor of Sanok’s Cup was also competed for. A year later there was only a fight for medals. And this was a classic two-day edition, and the final order was determined by the total number of points won in both tournaments.
The championship title went to Austrian Franz Zorn, who overtook Luca Bauer (Italy) and Jimmy Olsen (Sweden) in the general classification. A year later, the experienced defending champion was the best again. Olsen was classified right behind him, and Max Niedermaier (Germany) was on the lowest step of the podium. Zorn copied his feat from 2008 twice, when he became continental champion for the first time.
Sanok can easily be called the cradle of ice speedway in our country. In addition to fighting for medals in the Individual European Championships, the Team World Championships and several Sanok Cup friendly tournaments were also held there.
The European Individual Ice Speedway Championship will be held in Poland for the sixth time in a row. Our country will traditionally be represented by Michał Knapp, who in 2020 was thirteenth in the general classification, a year later twelfth, then eleventh, and in the last two years, mainly due to equipment problems, he was in eighteenth and seventeenth position. Now, however, he promises significant improvement, which will be achieved thanks to the starts and training in Sweden.
The competition formula remains unchanged. It envisages 20 races in the main phase, after which the two most effective competitors will immediately take part in the final race. The fight for the remaining two will take place in a play-off for speedway riders from places 3-6 after the regular phase. The order at the finish line of the final will be determined by the division of places on the podium.
Online ticket sales for the event in Sanok have already started. Tickets are available in three categories – VIP, Tribune and Crown of the Stadium. Children up to 6 years old have free admission. Tickets can be purchased on the website http://speedwayevents.pl/bilety and http://ebilet.pl.

Tickets for people with disabilities: The organizers have prepared a pool of free tickets for disabled fans. If you are interested, please apply – by February 23 – at the following e-mail address: events@speedwayevents.pl, writing “Ice Speedway Sanok 2025 ticket” in the subject line. The condition for receiving a free entry ticket will be to send a copy of a document confirming a significant degree of disability. Free admission is available to both the disabled person and his or her guardian. The number of places is limited!
