Aki Ala-Riihimäki and Max Koivula are two Finnish riders who will take part in the Texom European Individual Ice Speedway Championship – Sanok 2025. 59-year-old Finn Aki Ala-Riihimäki is one of the most experienced competitors, he still enjoys ice racing. His greatest achievement is winning the bronze medal with the Finnish team in the World Team Championships in 1993. Last year he represented his country in the Individual World Championships, where he unexpectedly finished fourth. In 2021, he suffered a serious injury in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, a year later he was seventh in the general classification. He returns to Sanok after a three-year break.

Max Koivula is a competitor whose adventure with the ice type of speedway began relatively recently, only in 2020. In 2021, he raced in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, but was not successful, ultimately taking 15th place. During his performance in Sanok in the 2023 tournament, he had a great day taking 6th place in the general classification. Last year he came close to winning a medal, taking fourth place. Will he finally get on the podium this year?
