Classic speedway and Ice Speedway are twin disciplines, differing primarily in the track surface on which the riders ride. But not only. An ice speedway specialist starts on motorbikes with 70-90 hp engines at 12,000 rotation. The whole structure weighs at least 77 kg. They are produced by the only company in the world, the Czech Java.
The motorbike for ice speedway is equipped with a two-speed gearbox, where the first one is only for starting off, and second one is used on the race time. However, the most important thing that distinguishes motorcycles for ice racing are the 28-millimeter spikes in which the tires on these vehicles are fitted. They make it possible to drive on slippery surfaces and obtain assemblies on turns.
